I chose to cover “I Try” by Macy Gray because of the emotional heaviness of the lyrics.
I think that it can relate to most people on some level or another regarding love, loss, addiction and the reaction to dealing with those things.
I wanted to reimagine the song with adding a depth of sorrow and darkness to not just the lyrics but also the ambience and delivery of the performance.
